SUMMARY

This position reports to the U.S. Head of Sales and will operate cross functionally within the company as a member of the Sales & Marketing department. The Trade Promotion Manager will lead the retail channel annual trade promotion and sales planning process, while consistently analyzing trade spending to optimize ROI. This position, in partnership with Finance and Supply Chain, provides updates to the sales forecast by analyzing shipment and consumption trends as well as provides insights from the Sales and Customer teams. The Trade Promotion Manager is the primary liaison between the Sales Team and the rest of the organization on trade spending/promotions and sales forecasts.

JOB DESCRIPTION

TRADE PROMOTION MANAGEMENT AND SALES PLANNING

  • Leads the retail channel annual trade promotion and sales planning process
  • Consistently analyzes trade spending to optimize ROI as well as contributes to the monthly accrual process
  • Manages the Retail channel trade spending budget under the guidance of the VP of Sales and U.S. Head of Sales
  • Primary resource for the Retail sales team in analysis and recommended adjustments to trade plans
  • Provides ongoing guidance, review, and oversight to the trade deduction management process
  • Develops shipment or consumption tracking reports to aid in trade promotion review

 SALES REPORTING, ANALYSIS, AND FORECASTING

  • Provides ongoing shipment analysis for the Retail channel and key customers
  • In partnership with Finance and Supply Chain, provides updates to the sales forecast by analyzing shipment and consumption trends as well as provides insights from the Sales and Customer teams
  • Develops shipment or consumption tracking reports to aid in forecast adjustments

CHANNEL DEVELOPMENT

  • Provides insights and analysis to develop trade plans for new channels of development

COLLABORATION WITH CROSS FUNCTIONAL TEAMS

  • Develops strong connections with Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing
  • Primary liaison between the Sales Team and the rest of the organization on trade spending/promotions and sales forecasts

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Analytical thinking; experience gathering insights and making recommendations from sales reports
  • Detailed orientated, understanding the critical value of accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills, inclusive of Syndicated Data
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Problem Solver
  • Knowledgeable in MS applications (word, excel, powerpoint)
  • Experience working with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s in Business Management, Finance, Accounting or related..
  • 5 years managing Retail channel trade promotions

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • 5% (Domestic)
