OPPORTUNITIES, INC. is Hiring a Tea Room Attendant Near Boise, ID

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: may include the following.

  • Responsible for feeding appropriate tea to hoppers based on production schedules and shop orders
  • Monitor tea delivery system.
  • Read & understand production reports and requisitions.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of tea in hoppers.
  • Ensure that the proper tea flavor is being used.
  • Refer to shop order packet to maintain required quantities and type of raw materials needed for production schedules
  • Monitor and assure that the dump stations are filled properly and as required.
  • Determine the time frame for refills by visual sight.
  • Responsible for identifying and gathering of all reclaim to be shredded. Rework product in reclaim machine.
  • Monitor shredding machine to assure it is running properly.
  • Be alert to possible tea mixture problems.
  • Communicate with production personnel to assure production is running as required.
  • Complete and maintain daily and weekly reports as required.
  • Returns and accurately documents materials from each work center at the end of each production run including tea and raw materials
  • Inventory management; including cycle counting, issuing and returning raw materials.
  • Understand & operates the shredding machine according to all machine instructions and quality standards.
  • Drain and clean tea delivery system (hopper).
  • Cleans and airs out hoppers and lines to machine after tea is drained.
  • Place finished goods in proper locations in finished goods warehouse
  • Assists in receiving new shipment of tea.
  • Maintains housekeeping in the tearoom as instructed.
  • Assist other areas when time allows.
  • Operate computer related inventory equipment, Both RF & Keyboard
  • Learn/backup all tearoom functions.
  • Operates stand up and sit-down forklifts
  • Follow R.C. Bigelow’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Food Safety and Quality processes
  • Comply with R.C. Bigelow Safety and Health Rules
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Special Skills/Training Required:

  • Ability to learn computer related work requirements.
  • Ability to learn proper operation of forklift and pass required driving examination.
  • Certified to operate power material handling equipment (Fairfield)
  • Ability to lift 50 – 100 lbs. bags (with assistance from lifting equipment)

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

One-year previous experience in shipping, receiving or material handling operations or equivalent. P.C. Skills

Language Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate necessary information to applicable personnel. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all common units of measure and common measuring tools.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Work environment may be dusty, hot, air conditioned and/or smell of various tea aromas. The employee must be able to wear, P.P.E., a dust mask respirator to protect him/her from excessive tea dust. The employee must also be comfortable wearing various types of safety equipment such as hearing protection, eye protection, coveralls, gloves, etc. as necessary and indicated by R.C. Bigelow’s Safety Rules and those of OSHA.
