The Quality Assurance Inspector ensures that the quality of work produced meets or exceeds standards as defined in documented policies and procedures. Responsible for upholding all quality standards by performing routine quality inspections and communicating product deficiencies.
Essential Functions
1. Ensure product integrity be performing routine product inspections.
2. Record all quality inspections and nonconformities on the designated forms.
3. Determine when a product does not meet quality standards, using available reference tools and documented standards. For non-typical quality issues, consult with Quality Assurance Manager or Quality Assurance Lead. Fill out appropriate paperwork and record results of non-conforming findings.
4. Communicate substandard product issues to the Quality Assurance Manager or Quality Assurance Lead and to the production supervisor(s).
5. Maintain accurate and legible records when recording information.
6. Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of product specifications, manufacturing software and general machine operation.
**RequirementsLanguage Skills: **
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos and effectively communicate information to customers, participants or other employees.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
**Physical Demands: **
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee if frequently required to handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
**Work Environment: **
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may experience a warm working environment during summer months.
