Answers telephone, screens and routes calls appropriately. Maintains appointment schedule and verifies insurance data, forms and necessary records and requirements are fulfilled for appointments and accuracy of payment. Completes all functions related to insurance and personal payment posting. Provides support to billers in determining denials & secondary claims that need to be worked. Reports to Supervisor on a daily basis where department is with posting and issues. Pre-surgery payments and payment plans. Counsels patients about balances, payment plans, and other options for help paying their bills. Handles all collections balances-in house and collection services (GBA) and refunds to insurance and patients. Does daily deposit for the office. Handles secondary claims and workers compensation issues along with self-pay and discounts. May fill in for the front office if needed and may cover disability forms and FMLA forms as needed along with pre-certifying emergent surgeries and counseling patients before leaving.
