OhioGuidestone is seeking an Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist to work with children, birth to six years, and their caregivers who would benefit from therapeutic or consultation services at home or in the community. In addition to working with caregivers, this position provides support to teachers and other professionals to promote healthy social and emotional development. This role is flexible, with full-time or part-time hours available. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONRequired:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, early childhood or related field. Master's degree preferred. 
  • LSW or LPC or MFT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide child/family-centered consultation when educators or parents have concerns regarding the social-emotional development of a particular child.
  • Establish relationships with early learning centers and provide ongoing classroom support to strengthen the competencies of early educators and decrease expulsion rates.
  • Work with parents and educators to develop and oversee implementation of action plans (individually or classroom focused) that identify appropriate interventions for a child/ren to support social and emotional skill-building.
  • Make referrals of children and their families to appropriate services.
  • Provide learning opportunities for educators and families to help them develop new skills that will
    enable them to understand and more effectively support the social-emotional development of children,
    including those identified with behavioral issues (i.e. may include observation, professional
    development, modeling, etc.).
  • Collaborate with community agencies and establish working relationships within the communities
    served.
  • Provide initial and ongoing assessment, counseling and clinical interventions to a designated caseload.
  • Provide individual, group and family psychotherapy interventions.
  • Integrate Trauma Informed Care practices while working with persons served.
  • Communicate with relevant internal and external care providers to complete ongoing assessment and to
    coordinate care.
  • Maintain complete and current clinical records regarding all persons served.
  • Achieve productivity goals as assigned.
  • Perform duties in accordance with applicable professional ethics and standards as well as established OhioGuidestone policies.
  • Comply with all state and federal laws regarding protected health information

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to use reflective practice throughout work and to participate in regularly scheduled reflective
    supervision.
  • Scheduling flexibility, in order to meet with families and/or staff during early morning or evening hours.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong observational skills and the capacity to see the work from an ecological perspective.
  • Perform job duties in a manner that’s friendly, considerate, and aligned with the agency’s Mission,
    Vision, and Standards of Ethical Conduct.
  • Organize and plan work for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilize IT system and software programs in accordance with agency policy.
  • Utilize time off in a manner consistent with agency policy.

  • Demonstrate a current knowledge of mental health practices.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Possess and demonstrate effective organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and good professional judgment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands described are representative of those that must be routinely met by an employee to

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in facilities with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical
    transportation.
