OPPORTUNITIES, INC. is Hiring an Engineering Intern Near Bowling Green, OH

Essential Duties:

  • Provide Manufacturing Support
    • Assist Operators with process and machine failures.
    • Implement process control parameters.
    • Create Process Work Instructions
    • Exercise Lean Manufacturing
    • Assist Operators on new manufacturing ideas to reduce manufacturing costs
    • Reduce Scrap/Rework
    • Identify and solve manufacturing excursions
  • Ability to analyze data and statistics
    • Obtain and analyze data to drive decision-making such as:
      • Tukey-Kramer
      • Histograms
      • Scatter Plots
      • Etc
    • Publish Powerpoint presentations to Manager and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on improvement ideas, development, and project status.
    • Responsible for process handoff to operations
    • Lead projects, improvements, and other process related changes
    • Deliver cost savings and lean initiatives based on Manager/Company expectations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and can work with various levels of personnel in the organization
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • interpret and analyze data/statistics
  • Familiar with FMEA, Fishbones, SIPOCs, and control charts
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent Word, Excel, and Powerpoint skills.

Training and Experience:

  • 1-3 year’s experience in manufacturing environment.
  • BS/AS in Engineering/Applied Science or related discipline.

Physical Requirements:

  • Reaching for phone and keyboard
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly from one work site to another.
  • Lifting-raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position
  • Crouching-bending body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Pushing and pulling.
  • Fingering, grasping and feeling.
  • Talking, hearing and repetitive motion
  • Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
