We are currently seeking a qualified substitute teacher for a charter school in Boynton Beach, FL. This role will offer you the opportunity to:
- Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate
- Organizes students for effective instruction
- Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff in accordance with school and county policies
- Ensures the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students
- Cover for absent teachers, delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring that learning objectives are met
- Deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities
- Manage classroom behaviour keeping students focused and motivated
- Work closely with school staff to ensure that students are progressing well
- Provide a safe and positive learning environment that promotes inclusion and diversity
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Reports to office upon arrival at school and requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary
- Complete a Substitute Teacher Form for the classroom teacher
- Compiles with and supports school and state regulations and policies
- Performs other related duties as assigned by building administrators in accordance with school/state policies
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree preferred)
- At least 21 years old
- At least 1 year working with children in an educational setting.
- Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills
- Takes initiative and is resourceful in problem-solving
- Positive interpersonal skills and can work well on a team
