Responsibilities
  • Managing Process and Procedures (50%);
    • Setting quality standards as well as ensuring those standards are being met and maintained;
      • Setting standards that provide the company with the shared vision, understanding, procedures, and vocabulary needed to meet the expectations of stakeholders; and
      • Properly reviewing specific technical documentation.
    • Following up on all warranty activities;
    • Leading and driving all activities to maintain facility certifications;
      • Responsible for understanding how to understand and implement certification requirements; and
      • Must have technical background in Quality Management Systems (QMS) and related certifications.
    • Overseeing and managing supplier quality base;
      • Enhancing supplier selection and relationship management, streamlining suppliers, and conducting detailed audits and operational reviews to assess suppliers.
    • Leading a team of five (5) quality engineering management employees.
  • Managing Internal Product (20%);
    • Providing quality support during development and launch phase of programs;
      • Working with relevant stakeholders to outline specifications for end product; and
      • Facilitating any necessary changes to the product and updating documentation to certify the requirements are met.
  • Managing External (Customer) Product (20%);
    • Responsible for customer quality topics;
      • Directly interface with customers and address their concerns; and
      • Utilizing technical background to analyze problems and help to expedite the resolution of quality issues for the customer.
    • Managing customer requirements to drive existing business and support positively future business opportunities;
      • Working with suppliers and manufacturers to optimize and refined product performance based on a customer’s specific requirements.
    • Supporting customer visits and coordinating customer audits within the organization;
      • Analyzing recent purchases, customer’s purchasing cycle and decision process, evaluation of the company’s performance compared to the customer’s needs, service gaps within the company’s offerings, and ways to build a deeper relationship with the customer.
    • Ensuring proper documentation in customer contracts and claiming resolution;
      • Utilizing technical knowledge of documentation required for manufacturing processes to ensure that there are no potential liabilities that could have legal or financial consequences to the company’s business.
  • Reporting KPIs and Other Metrics (5%);
    • Tracking the main quality KPIs within the organization, customer, and with the supplier;
      • Responsible for using measurable values to evaluate the company’s success at reaching targets.
  • Traveling (5%);
    • Traveling to OSRAM CONTINENTAL, customer, and supplier facilities.
Education/Experience
  • U.S. bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering or a related technical field;
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a relevant field of Quality (e.g. CQM, SQM, QMPP) with expertise in automotive business;
  • Minimum of three (3) years work experience managing people;
  • Strong knowledge of automotive product development cycles;
  • Experience in Q methods and tools: problem solving, 8Ds, FMEA, DMAIC;
  • Good communication and team skills (presentation skills are appreciated);
  • Good writing, reading, and speaking English skills;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and strong analytical skills; and
  • Eagerness to learn new things and to investigate for solutions.
