GENERAL PURPOSE
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for assisting the Information Technology Manager with overall IT systems administration, monitoring, and providing user support.
This individual will also perform both security and administrative system upkeep and updates to classified systems at the direction of the ISSM/ISSO and in accordance with the policies and procedures put forth by the ISSM/ISSO.
This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a Secret security clearance current within the last 2 years.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Unclassified Responsibilities:
• Assist IT Manager in overall day-to-day operations of the unclassified local area network.
• Assist in managing AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP and other network management systems.
• Assist in managing servers, networking, firewalls, and IPS systems.
• Provide excellent customer-centric desktop support and education to end users.
• Monitoring/Auditing unclassified information systems, reporting any anomalous behavior to the IT Manager for further investigation and assisting in the investigation process.
• Monitor use of data files and enforce controls to safeguard information.
• Assist with the creation and implementation of security standards, policies, and procedures per NIST 800-171 and CMMC.
• Assist with inventory management and maintenance.
• Maintain activity logs and system documentation.
• Conduct, support, or assist in governmental reviews, internal corporate evaluations, or assessments.
• Assist in identification, investigation, and resolution of security breaches.
• Assist in system security updates/patching and remediation of issues.
Classified Responsibilities:
• User account creation, management, and maintenance.
• Management of updates to Operating Systems, Software, and Endpoint Security software.
• STIG updates and monitoring to ensure implementation of program compliance in accordance with established system documentation and procedures.
• Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM/ISSO prior to the change.
• Formally notify the ISSM/ISSO and when changes occur that might affect system authorization.
• Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package.
• Attend required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties.
• Maintain required IA certifications.
• Report all security-related incidents to the ISSM/ISSO.
• Serve as member of the CCB, if designated by the ISSM/ISSO.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
• Windows Server experience with emphasis on Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Configuring networking, firewalls, IPS/IDS experience.
• Experience with incident resolution, audit and log analysis, and media/device control.
• Proficiency with Windows 10, Windows Server, and Hyper-V Server.
• Familiarity with LINUX/Unix is preferred.
• Must possess excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple job responsibilities.
• Self-motivated. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Candidate must be able to respond to after-hours issues.
• Requires U.S. Citizenship and a Secret security clearance current within the last 2 years.
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Experience and Certifications may be substituted for education.
• Possession of a current DOD 8570 IAT Level II security certification (Security CE, CCNA Security, CSA , GICSP, GSEC, SSCP). Must provide proof of certification.
• Completion of appropriate USG-sponsored (DOD, DNI, etc.) IA training courses preferred.
EXPERIENCE
• 3-5 years related experience desired.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• Mostly work at a desk or in a server room or lab.
