Job Title: Controller
Reporting To: President
Location: Los Angeles, California

Job Overview:
As the Controller at Ophir RF, you will be instrumental in guiding the financial decisions of our dynamic organization by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. We are seeking an experienced individual with a solid background in financial management to join our team and help us maintain our financial health and propel our company to new heights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial and accounting operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with external auditors and manage auditing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation; advise management on needed actions.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of financial systems and the development of new financial models to support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the payroll service provider to guarantee the precise and prompt management of payroll transactions such as salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to devise strategic financial goals and directions for the company.
  • Assume additional duties as assigned to meet the evolving requirements of the department.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software upgrade or process improvement a plus. Sage Accounting software knowledge is a plus.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong aptitude for numbers and financial reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, and financial management software.

Physical Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

  • Ability to participate in the following activities for extended durations:
  • Ability to stay in stationary position for extended length of time.
  • Remove or replace up to 15 pounds.
  • Positioning, arranging, or moving items up to certain heights or at ground level.
