·Prepares dental operatory area for patient treatment, using prescribed infection control procedures.Keeps patient delivery and waiting areas picked up and neat.Cleans, disinfects and completes closing procedures for dental operatories at end of the clinic day.

·Organizes patient delivery pre-set trays with appropriate instruments, sets out prescribed materials and armamentarium for scheduled procedures.Manipulates dental materials following prescribed directions.

·Sorts, prepares and disinfects instruments following the directives of the Faculty General Practice Clinic and the Patient Admissions Clinic.

·Orders, organizes and stocks supplies in cabinets in designated areas according to criteria established for the Faculty General Practice Clinic and the Patient Admissions Clinic.

·Greets, seats, places napkin and headrest, prepares patient for treatment; dismisses patient.Updates pertinent patient information.Takes and records blood pressure readings.Records in the electronic patient record the examination findings verbalized by operator.

·Exposes, processes and mounts radiographs of patients.

·Loads cartridge and needle for practitioner's administration of local anesthetic.Picks up, passes and receives appropriate instruments for procedure being done.Correctly utilizes intra-oral suction and air/water.

·Anticipates, recognizes and provides emotional support and reassurance to patients.Communicates verbally and nonverbally with staff, faculty, students and patients in a positive and constructive way.

·Exhibits an understanding of the philosophy of the program consistent with appropriate performance.

·Enters completed charges and appointment requests into the electronic patient health record (axiUm).

·Cleans and organizes operatories for regional board exams.

·Other duties as assigned.

Salary:$22,110.40 - $26,532.48

Schedule:TBD - Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm – May require occasional overtime.

An advanced starting salary may be possible based on exceptional qualifications.
