The Material Expediter executes the following:

locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plant to expedite processing of goods, according to pre-determined schedules and priorities, and keeps related record, reviews production schedules inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders, confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials, locates and moves materials to specified production areas, using cart or hand truck, and records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.

Work may include the following tasks: directing Power-Truck Operator or Material Handling Laborer to expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas, compare work ticket specifications with material at work stations to verify appropriateness of material in use, prepare worker production records and timecards, and may update and maintain inventory records, using computer terminal.

Responsibilities:- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules- Review production schedules and work orders to determine material requirements and priorities- Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes- Compile and maintain manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, or status and location of materials- Locate and distribute materials to specified production areas- Monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle- Expedite the delivery of materials from suppliers to meet production requirements- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any issues related to delivery or quality- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to inventory control and supply chain management

Skills:- Three (3) years of experience in logistics/warehouse operations and administrative support services.

- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and materials management- Experience in production planning and coordinating activities across different departments- Familiarity with contract management and supplier relationship management- Proficiency in using Oracle EBS or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems- Understanding of supply chain principles and practices- Ability to negotiate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials- Knowledge of inventory control methods, including cycle counting and lean manufacturing techniques
