Open Fields School is Hiring an Elementary Teacher (K-6) Near Thetford, VT

Job Overview:
Open Fields is looking for a full-time teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. With 20 students in grades K-6, and 3-4 teachers, Open Fields offers a flexible, child-centered education and extremely small class sizes.

The ideal candidate is excited about student learning, works well with children of all ages and mixed age learners, can manage a small and energetic bunch, maintains flexibility, and provides guidance, structure, and support for kids both in and out of the classroom.

Duties:
- Work with other teachers to plan class groupings and schedules
- Foster a love for learning through engaging activities
- Promote social, emotional, and cognitive development in children
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to support student progress

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children
- Knowledge of childhood development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in working with children
- Ability to work with multi-age groups inside and outside the classroom
- Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

We are a recognized independent school in Vermont. While our pay is on the low end of the pay scale, job satisfaction is on the high end of the scale.

School year runs from Labor Day to a week past Memorial Day, with week-long breaks in October, February, and April; two weeks at the winter holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
