Open Door is seeking a full-timeAccounting Manager. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas of financial reporting (ex. month-end financials, UDS report, Medicaid and Medicare Cost reports, Federal Financial reports, Managed Care and Visit reports, etc.). This position reports to the Assistant Controller and will be located at our Administrative Office in Tarrytown, NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hire and manage accounting staff, including supervising day-to-day work, training/development, and performance management
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
• Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Responsible for the coordination of all audits including financial, Federal, State, and local agencies, Capital Projects, Cost Reports, Phelps Residency Programs, Payroll and related for any entities that ODFMC merges with
• Support budget, forecasting activities, Quarterly Business Review and Payroll activities (Paycom)
• Collaborate with Assistant Controller to develop and execute trainings across organization to educate managers on finance-related topics
• Work closely with Chief Finance Officer and members of Open Door’s Senior Management Team to develop new internal reporting tools and partners with business leads to monitor ongoing performance
• Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
• Respond to inquiries from the Chief Finance Officer, Assistant Controller, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests
• Maintain up to date expertise and knowledge of healthcare accounting regulations and developments necessary for the organization to make informed business decisions
• Prepare and maintain documentation in compliance with JCAHO standards and applicable city, state, and federal laws

• EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
• Exhibits strong communication, leadership, and people management skills
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills required
• Prior experience working in health care strongly preferred
• Ability to prioritize and monitor tasks and motivate a team
• Demonstrates ability to function in a culturally sensitive manner within the organization’s philosophy and mission
