Opelousas General Health System is Hiring an OGH Imaging Center Director Near Opelousas, LA

The OGH Imaging Center is located in Sunset, La.
The OGH Imaging Center Director will be responsible for overseeing regulatory standards and requirements regarding radiology and ensuring those are met in the center. The position acts as the radiology liaison in all markets and manages state specific radiation safety plans. The manager will also be responsible for the Company’s Imaging Technologist Program, ensuring each state’s standards are met and employee training and competency. The OGH Imaging Center Director will be confident and proficient in working both autonomously and with team members. The OGH Imaging Center Director reports to the OGH Imaging Board.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages staff and oversees operations of the Center.
  • Maintain, setup, order, and cancel employees’ individual dosimetry badges. Track and analyze quarterly and work with operations to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate radiology vendor management, contracting, and service agreements.
  • Oversee installations, service calls and repairs of equipment, and ensure all equipment registrations remain active and in good standing.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and track state/local mandated and recommended testing, annual calibrations, inspections, and maintenance to ensure radiation equipment is compliant with radiation exposure limits and ensure that services are continuous without excessive service charges. Inspect and verify that all radiation equipment and supplies/safety barriers are available and functioning properly.
  • Perform multiple Insurance Diagnostic site assessments to maintain certification and Payer status with each individual insurance company.
  • Works on accreditation standards and initiatives and participates in the development and oversight of long-term corrective and preventative action plans as needed.
  • Responsible for all quality initiatives and reporting regarding radiology.
  • Maintain and track scope of practice for radiology technologist and imaging technologist who can take x-rays.
  • Oversee imaging center to ensure all training material is adequate and local and state regulations are upheld.
  • Ensure all imaging technologist have met the program’s background requirements, training, and competencies to take images.
  • QA/QC images, oversee imaging technicians, and conduct ongoing training and competencies of current imaging technicians.
Radiology Implementation and Training
  • Works to ensure education content for new and current employees is current and competencies are consistent.
  • Responsible for training new hire radiology technicians on Company processes and procedures
  • Ensures that the staff is adequately trained on the necessary radiology processes, systems, and policies to pass applicable local, state, and national inspections/certifications.

Requirements, Education And/or Experience
  • 5 years’ experience in radiology; current state radiology licensure and American Registry Radiology Technologist Licensure required.
  • 5 years’ management experience.
  • Ability to maintain and demonstrate Competency Skills Training of a radiology technologist.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • The ability to adapt to changes in real time to overcome barriers.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • While we work together as a team on projects, this is an autonomous position and you will have your own assigned projects, so you should be self-sufficient and self-motivated.
