JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Warehouse Manager

Position Reports To: Plant Manager

FLSA Status: Salary $60,000-$80,000

  • This is a permanent, full-time position that is eligible for enrollment in company benefits 30 days and 40 hours of vacation after 90 days
  • Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm -Saturdays possible

Position Purpose Summary: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for oversight of the warehouse department and drivers to ensure timely and accurate shipping of product. In addition to warehouse drivers, the Warehouse Manager is also responsible for the oversight of the Inventory & Invoicing Coordinator and the Shipping, Receiving Specialist, and 1st and 2nd shift Warehouse Supervisors.

Principal Job Responsibilities:

  • Hire, supervise and schedule warehouse drivers to meet the demands of the warehouse operations
  • Approves employees’ time in Timekeeper, creates schedules, and manages use of OT hours
  • Meet daily with supervisors to discuss plans and assigns workload
  • Resolves any issues for Repack, Production, or trucks/loads that need to be addressed in a timely manner
  • Works closely with Quality department to manages any QA related outbound loads
  • Manages freezer organization, consolidation and overall neatness and cleanliness
  • Anticipates production needs and directs clearing of aisles for new production ahead of time by creating transfer projects for the crew
  • Maintains organization in partial case bays
  • Coordinates and leads safe removal from the racks of collapsed or tipped pallets of product
  • Reviews and communicates blocked product needed for loads and/or Repack, making plans for warehouse drivers to gain access and obtain product
  • Manage and schedule USDA grading and check loading of packed loads
  • Input warehouse capacity information into pack plan and report metrics accordingly
  • Create labels for inbound deliveries and assist with submitting shippers
  • Check and manage unplaced list, stage 1’s and stage M’s
  • Monitor Warehouse related PM’s including but not limited refrigeration, dock services, batter services
  • Maintains and checks water levels of forklift batteries, dock, freezers, and battery room for cleanliness
  • Coordinates with Forklift Tech weekly to discuss forklift equipment needs or issues
  • Orders any needed items for the Warehouse including but not limited cleaning supplies, Refrigiwear, Samco, Crown, etc.
  • Operate forklift as needed to ensure trucks ship, repack/production continues to operate
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Above average attendance

  • Possesses the ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills essential.
  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effective resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is in consistent with Company standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, or government law.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent experience: high school diploma; some college preferred or Warehouse/Logistic training or education
  • Years of experience: 5 years in warehouse management, supervision, or warehouse driving/operations

Physical Demands of the Position:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee must stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to handle varying levels of stress
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to work in cold temperatures for an extended period of time

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed general office conditions except when occasionally working in the actual production facility– where there is exposure to moving parts and vehicles; variable tempatures of both heat and cold; wet environment; loud environment.
