Position Summary: As a Commissioning Manager, you will collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to develop commissioning plans, coordinate activities, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards. The incumbent will perform tests, inspections, and document results to verify system performance and identify any deficiencies. This critical position oversees the commissioning process through every state of construction and leads to the final project turnover.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing project completion, while managing communication to stakeholders.
  • Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines.
  • Ensuring that equipment works to its specification.
  • Creating and conducting test procedures.
  • Investigating problems and diagnosing and repairing faults.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Consulting with installation technicians and project managers.
  • Writing reports and documentation.
  • Providing technical support to direct reports.
  • Ensuring safe working conditions.
  • Making improvements to, and offering advice about, operational procedures.
  • Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate.
  • Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters.
  • Ensuring that all station equipment, including safety devices and systems are functioning properly, and reporting any equipment failures to management.
  • Responsible for booking all travel and tracking all expenses.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ten plus years of commissioning experience (preferably in renewable energy).
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Excellent mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of industrial mechanical and hydraulic systems helpful.
  • Safety focus required.
  • Meticulous (keeping and organizing work records).
  • Computer literate – spreadsheets, word processing desired; work/project scheduling software ability highly desired.
  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 75%.
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license, without any restrictions.

Work Hours: Standard Monday – Friday, 1st shift (40-hours); hours may fluctuate, based upon customer demand.

Physical requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Position requires physical effort such as that associated with driving a motorized vehicle, using hand tools, and typing on a computer. Position requires moderate lifting (30-60 lbs.), occasional need to walk on irregular surfaces, wrist and arm movements. Also requires connecting and disconnecting of valves and hoses, gauging instruments, wires, and using the corresponding tools.

Pay: $132,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
