We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized person to join our team, with a focus on design and improvement of our products and processes, and also delivery of our projects.Deep industry expertise is important, but this must be complemented by an ability to flex and fill in gaps as needed. Focused on Modwall, our adaptable interior room system, you will lead product development to increase delivery efficiency and improve performance, and manage the process of turning designs into reality. You will identify opportunities for improvement in the current system design and delivery, then work with leadership to implement product and process improvement.Our ideal candidate has experience with design engineering and product development for construction projects. They will bring innovative thinking that is also pragmatic enough to be adopted broadly in the construction industry; and will understand how to organize product development workstreams and continuous improvements to meet project delivery and revenue goals.You are independent and have strong intrinsic motivation in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You are a strong team player and can pivot quickly in the face of shifting priorities, understanding the value, responsibility, and unique opportunity that comes with flying a plane while building it. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Surface, digest, and share data, research, and market analysis to inform product strategy.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop product design and process improvements that increase performance and reduce cost.
  • Manage product documentation tools to improve procurement process efficiency and accuracy, including bill of materials, inventory management, and fabrication documentation.
  • Modify and improve design and fabrication documents, primarily in Revit, to incorporate product design revisions and improvements.
  • Research product component materials, evaluating opportunities for improvement and developing criteria for product design development.
  • Partner with sourcing to develop vendor relationships and support project material procurement.
  • Develop customer implementation documents.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-10 years’ experience in fast-moving corporate, startup, or design consultancy environments.
  • Product development and design engineering workstream integration.
  • Construction process and product integration experience.
  • A desire to tackle problems with a creative mindset, creating recommendations and developing these into actionable plans.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to successfully bring B2B and/or B2C products to market.
  • A passion for product development and operations, including a focus on continuous process improvement (experience with Lean and/or Agile a plus).
  • Clear interpersonal communication skills.
