Job Summary & Responsibilities This Electrical Engineering candidate will be responsible for R&D project development with the opportunity to participate on future development including high precision motion control, mechatronics, AC and DC power distribution, safety systems, and high speed communication. The right candidate will quickly develop a high level understanding of existing product electrical architecture, and be a visionary for helping define future electrical architecture requirements. Experience with DeviceNet, CANbus, or similar is highly preferred, and a vision to use this experience to simplify machine architecture. Hands on candidate capable of simple PCB modification, cable and harness build and modifications, and basic electrical troubleshooting with the ability to read schematics and use basic diagnostic tools to find faults and identify root cause is a must. Required characteristics: Min 3 years semiconductor capital equipment design experience. PLC, temperature, and motion controllers and their electrical interfacing AC and DC electrical design and distribution EMO and AC power On/Off controls Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems teams to define System Requirements Machine Architecture Create block diagrams, schematics, and flow charts defining system architecture and behavior Work with suppliers to identify system components or define custom system components Mechatronics experience Defining motion system architecture Motor and position feedback device selection Sensor selection Create procedures and work instructions PCB design and specification Schematic capture using Orcad or similar. Component selection and bill of materials Interfacing with external PCB fabrication vendors Ability to generate new cable designs and drawings: Cable shielding and grounding design. Connector, pin, and cable selection 2D CAD experience with Visio, AutoCAD or similar.
