Summary

The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for performing all electrical tasks with general supervision. Employee can demonstrate experience factors exceeding an electrical helper and is proficient with completing rough-in work.

Key Responsibilities

· Install feeders, wire and conduit

· Switchgear and device installations and terminations

· Layout and preparation for installation

· Perform underground layout and rough-in

· Troubleshooting on motors and controls

· Possess skills to complete lower job title (apprentice) work

· Fully comprehends Electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code

· Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

· Requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow)

· Must have personal tools with them at all times

· Must always wear personal protective equipment

· Work from all types of ladders and perform work at various heights

· Sound eye sight to positively identify colors of wires

· Be able to bend conduit with hand or with mechanical benders

· Operate trenchers, back hoe, and lift in a safe manner

· Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or with power equipment

· Must pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing

· May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

· Valid driver’s license required

Minimum Qualifications

· Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics

· Practices and comprehends Enertech safety policy

· Strong communication and team working skills

· Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions

EVITP Certification (Nice to have). 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with overtime requirements.

Travel

Extensive travel is required for this position. Usually between 80 to 100% of the time.

Required Education and Experience

· High School diploma or general education degree (GED); related trade school education preferred

· Current Journeyman

· 4 years previous electrical experience required
