Description
The Release of Information Specialist greets and provides a variety of customer support services to patients and visitors along with providing assistance to physicians and their office staff, hospitals and other health care facilities, insurance companies, attorneys’ offices, and other requestors of protected health information.
The Release of Information Specialist position must, always, safeguard and protect the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient's medical information and that all Release of Information.
We expect our Release of Information Specialist to be a knowledgeable and organized individual who is committed to providing exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of HIPAA / HITECH regulations, the ability to effectively navigate electronic health records (EHRs), and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
Education / Certification :
High school graduate required
Experience :
Minimum of 1 year in a Physician office or Medical Records Preferred
