OnPoint Community Credit Union is Hiring an Events Community Sponsorship Specialist Near Portland, OR
Overview We are seeking a passionate and organized Events and Community Sponsorships Specialist to join our team and play a key role in strategically reviewing and managing our community events and sponsorships. You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential sponsorship opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with sponsors, and ensuring the successful execution of sponsored events and activities. Responsibilities Review and evaluate potential sponsorship opportunities:
Research and identify potential sponsors aligned with our community engagement goals and values.
Analyze potential return on investment (ROI) for each sponsorship opportunity.
Develop and present sponsorship proposals to the Community Relations Manager and senior management.
Manage existing sponsorships:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsors.
Negotiate sponsorship agreements and secure contracts.
Oversee the fulfillment of all sponsorship commitments.
Track and report on the success of each sponsorship.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth execution of sponsored events and activities.
Contribute to the development of the community engagement strategy:
Provide insights and recommendations on effective community engagement strategies.
Assist in the development and implementation of community events and initiatives.
Track and analyze the impact of community engagement efforts.
Event Planning:
Source venues, recommend and engage catering services, acquire necessary technology, and coordinate the development of event materials to ensure the successful execution of high-quality events
Work in collaboration with management to negotiate agreements with suppliers, outside providers, and subcontractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising service quality.
Perform other duties as assigned:
Manage the community sponsorships budget.
Prepare reports and presentations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Stay informed on current trends and best practices in community engagement and sponsorships.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Strong relationship building and communication skills.
Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects
Excellent communication and writing skills
Attention to detail, high productivity and concern for accuracy and excellence
Must be a self-starter, proactive and driven, with a strong work ethic, a high level of motivation, a strong sense of urgency when needed, the ability to work without direct supervision and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to foster positive, productive relationships, collaboration and teamwork, internally and externally, among staff, board members, volunteers, partners and other OnPoint stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in community engagement, event coordination, sponsorships, or a related field.
Marketing experience a plus but not required
Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and secure sponsorships.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
Passion for community engagement and a strong commitment to the credit union mission.
