Job Description

We are looking for a Transportation Assistant / Dispatcher. This position offers a great opportunity to work in an environment that fosters learning and collaboration.

This position is responsible for dispatching all company trucks to various destinations and for scheduling drivers. This position is also responsible for the scheduling, receipt, inventory control, and shipment to warehouses of all raw materials.

The incumbent also arranges transportation of machinery to and from vendors by company or contracted truck, and safely loads and unloads Crane trucks and outside supplier trailers.

Responsibilities include :

• Schedule, dispatch, and monitor the deliveries and pickups of all department trucks and drivers.
• Schedule the movement of currency trailers.
• Arrange for the removal of all non-conforming raw materials as needed.
• Arrange for the transportation of machine parts to and from various vendors using both company and contracted trucks.
• Perform all recordkeeping duties for incoming and outgoing raw materials.

Work Experience

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Logistics experience, required
• Dispatch experience, preferred
• Ability to develop transportation schedules which maximize the productivity of drivers.
• Ability to problem solve to accommodate schedule adjustments, personnel needs and changing needs.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Basic working knowledge of the types of raw materials used in the papermaking process.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of safe trailer loading techniques with the ability to conform to weight restrictions and safe placement of materials.
