Job Description Summary The Regional Grassroots Marketing Coordinator is the primary representative for Sporting in the Columbia/East region, and based in Kansas City, MO. This person is to cultivate and engage fans (Soccer Enthusiasts and Sports Fans) with soccer, Sporting Kansas City and Major League Soccer. This person is to build new marketing/sales/business opportunities for Sporting by creating and strengthening relationships with the soccer/sports community in their region. This person is to contribute to the company purpose of ‘Creating memories through personalized experiences with our Club.’ Job Description Essential Functions Serve as the primary ambassador for Sporting Kansas City in the Northwest Arkansas, Columbia, MO, Springfield, MO, and Des Moines, IA markets as well as the state of Iowa Strong familiarity and passion for the game of soccer. Cultivate and engage soccer, Sporting Kansas City and Major League Soccer fans. Serve as a primary point of contact for local Sporting supporters groups. Develop relationships with associated local outlets: Collegiate Athletic Departments x Teams Other Professional Sports Organizations Soccer/sports lifestyle Retail Youth soccer Local sports sponsors Government/civic organizations Local influencers esports organizations Collaborate with associates with the marketing team to ensure we are all working to elevate the Sporting Kansas City brand. Collaborate very closely with Sporting Kansas City youth soccer, ticketing, retail, communications and corporate partnerships teams. Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times. Perform other related tasks as assigned. Matchday Responsibilities Organize and execute regional watch parties. Organize regional client group outings (Ex. Bringing a Collegiate Team to a Match, Chamber of Commerce, or other client group from regional market territory) Personal Attributes Strong familiarity and passion for the game of soccer. Self-starter, with the intent to grow their career. Positive attitude. Natural leader. Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently, demonstrating exceptional time management. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor while working with professional athletes. Strong work ethic and solution-oriented thinking in a fast-paced environment. High level of energy and commitment. High level of creativity. Ability to work well with a team. Professional appearance and demeanor. Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Sports Business, Marketing or Communications. Experience in sales or marketing. Experience in leadership training programs. General familiarity with the assigned geographic region. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar. Spanish fluency preferred, but not required.
