10 hours a week - Dependent on Participants needs for Dr appts and errands
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home care setting
- Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Monitor and document vital signs, such as blood pressure and heart rate
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules
- Assist with transportation to appointments and community outings
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for individuals in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related experience in senior care, dementia care, or hospice care
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and perform basic first aid procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for transporting individuals to appointments or outings
