Job Summary：
To assist the service operation by delivering parts and equipment, repairing tools, unloading equipment and supplies and keeping shop area clean and equipment safely secured.
- Maintains shop equipment and service tools by repairing or replacing as necessary.
- Maintains shop vehicles and trailers keeping them clean and ready for use.
- Monitors service tool use and check out procedures.
- Assists techs with computer maintenance and completes initial set up of technician’s computers.
- Monitors used oil storage and notifies Disposal Company when full.
- Identifies materials needed for each job by establishing specifications and creating bill or materials and transports equipment to and from job sites.
- Unloads and organizes equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Rebuilds equipment by disassembling, cleaning, repairing or replacing parts and reassembling as needed.
- Serves customers by providing miscellaneous repairs as needed.
- Documents work by completing paperwork on each job.
- Maintains supplies inventory by recording quantities used and determining supplies as needed.
- Keeps shop area, walkways, and parking maintained and clean.
- Supports Field Technicians by assisting on jobs when needed.
- Performs work in a safe manner, following safety rules, and reporting any unsafe conditions.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school is required. Typically 0-2 years of experience in HVAC. Technical School or formal training is preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
- DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematic calculations, which would normally be acquired through secondary education, or through equivalent experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Etc.
EPA Approved Universal Technician Certification.(preferred)
Experience
An understanding of HVAC as would be acquired through exposure to HVAC principles.Up to two years direct experience preferred.
Continuous speaking, hearing, and visual (including close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus) effort.Frequent walking and standing, crouching, stooping, reaching and regularly lifting/moving up to 25 lbs., frequent lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds.Close mental and visual attention.Work involves some irregularities and difficulties in repetitive and varied tasks, continuous general concentration.Stress due to working with a great number of personalities, work pace and pressure will be present.
A combination of inside and outside work environment, and possible extreme weather conditions.Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electric shocks and vibration.Occasionally exposed to wet and /or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles.The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.Overtime/weekends as required and frequent travel, with some overnight travel.
