Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Portfolio Director is responsible for leading optimization of and supporting client portfolios with complex campaigns across owned, earned and paid marketing execution channels, and leading capacity demand prioritization and integrated marketing delivery planning. This includes leading cross-functional client marketing and functional experts to develop and determine execution program solutions to achieve strategic client objectives and drive results while also delivering leading customer experiences. The candidate will also, at times, manage strategic client projects which involve determining and leading process improvements, or driving new product and technology integration efforts for campaign delivery. This role will be critical to ensuring delivery of marketing operational excellence, with strong visibility across the Synchrony organization. This role will be supporting the Health and Wellness Platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the change curve; Acts as a change agent communicating and evangelizing new capabilities and platforms with marketing leadership and client teams

  • Influence and drive optimization of marketing programs, integration of new capabilities and strategies, and lead resource alignment for large-scale, integrated marketing programs in alignment with commercial goals

  • Manage annual and quarterly/monthly business reviews with platform and client marketing teams, socializing actions across stakeholder groups.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with channel leadership, other marketing groups and functional subject matter experts to tackle growth opportunities and execution challenges

  • Leverage execution results, insights and learnings to innovate, build and enhance marketing campaign execution efforts 

  • Role model and reinforce the use of internal workflows and technology standards (ie. COSMOS) 

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining strong client and team relationships with internal stakeholders 

  • Maintain knowledge of a variety of Synchrony functions. Build relationships/networks across key functional areas that support marketing execution plans 

  • Support client focused strategic projects as needed 

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR in lieu of degree high school diploma/GED and 8 years of professional experience in sales, marketing, operations in a corporate environment

  • A minimum of 4 years of marketing or agency experience to include Project Management, campaign or portfolio management, and/or client relationship experience

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time or as needed

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven client relationship management skill sets, experience developing plans and consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

  • Demonstrated experience with strategy generation and omnichannel execution, both traditional (email/direct mail) and digital (SEM, Display, Social). Experience with Plastics development, statement marketing or cardholder documents a plus. 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for varying levels of an organization and influence and partner with all levels of employees, internal and external partners/suppliers

  • Excellent team skills; flexibility to pivot with strategy, regulatory and market evolution; and proven ability to work cross functionally, as well as within own function 

  • Facilitation, coaching and problem-solving experience 

  • Experience in consumer financial services with exposure to credit card or retail environment

  • Knowledge of Agile or Kanban project management framework, grooming and retrospectives, a plus

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
