OneTen is Hiring a VP, Controllership - Financial Reporting Near Stamford, CT

Job Description:

Role Summary:

Drive key function of reporting processes, reporting directly to VP, Corporate Reporting. Produce timely and accurate analysis to serve key stakeholders in SEC and Regulatory Reporting groups. Assist with preparation of SEC filings. Proactively monitor and implement upcoming requirements & any changes to existing analysis to align with changing reporting requirements. Drive cross functional initiatives to improve data availability & accuracy across the Risk and Finance function. Ability to manage the day to day operational activities and competing priorities and execute on decisions as required to move projects forward.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the process for the preparation & review of Quarterly SEC Balance Sheet & Statement of Cash flows, including the preparation of summarized dashboards for CFO and Controller review
  • Manage reporting analysts and deliverable providers for Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, earnings and other analysis
  • Assist in the preparation, consolidation, analysis and controls for Reporting data packs and other miscellaneous reporting files to facilitate production of multiple outputs for both SEC and Regulatory Reporting needs.
  • Assists with preparation of SEC filings, review of the 10K/10Q SEC disclosure requirements and comparison/research of peer filings, as applicable.
  • Assist with Regulatory Reporting filings as needed
  • Drive process improvements and automation, including through enhanced use of Axiom SL software
  • Drive consistency across all external reporting (SEC Reporting and Regulatory) as applicable.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvements and drives Controllership or cross functional implementation of identified opportunities; to implement & be comfortable working in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Works cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and Management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
  • Stays current with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting and Regulatory reporting requirements
  • Addresses questions and requests from Internal audit & external auditors
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a Minimum 5 years Accounting experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry or or in lieu of degree, 10 Accounting experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry
  • CPA license required
  • Proficient use of financial systems (HFM, Hyperion databases & Oracle Financials Data Warehouse (OFDW)) and Microsoft Office (Excel)

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • SEC reporting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Analytical skills, ability to influence colleagues and facilitate meetings
  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
  • Ability to work in a team environment effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with process improvement and simplification initiatives, including use of automated tools (i.e., Axiom)

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
