Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

As a member of the Growth Governance & Excellence organization, the VP, Change Management Governance is responsible for leading key enterprise-wide governance activities focused on identifying and monitoring Compliance and Operational risk with a specific focus on rigorous change management. Reporting to the VP, New Product Introduction and Change Strategy, the VP, Change Management and Governance will help build and lead the company’s Change Governance Center of Excellence which is responsible for cross-functional change intake, routing, and governance oversight process to evaluate significant changes. This individual must be a strong people leader, able to think both strategically and tactically, influence in a matrixed environment, and embrace a culture of change and innovation.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership and oversight in the building and implementation of process for identifying and addressing incremental risk associated with significant changes governance in accordance with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

  • Drive a culture of proactive risk management across the entire company by providing clear thought leadership and critical challenge.

  • Partner and foster collaborative relationships with various stakeholders across the company and across the lines of defense to train, identify and oversee projects subject to new change governance expectations

  • Build and lead a team of professionals in the execution of key change governance activities, ensuring adequate cross-functional input, risk identification, control design and signoff.

  • Lead cross functional collaboration, training and communication of all changes to governance activities to key stakeholders and functions

  • Establish minimum requirements for review and approval related to enablement of approved changes

  • Develop and own applicable policies and procedures

  • Establish construct for monitoring of change governance activities.

  • Determine how new change governance requirements fit within the company’s process universe which may include incorporating new controls into applicable L3s and standing up a new L3 process assuming related Process Ownership responsibilities

  • Own requirements for the universal change intake form, risk questionnaire,risk scoring calculation, and governance process flows that intersects Change Governance COE, Tollgates and NPI. 

  • Partners with business intake owners to ensure clear process flow from universal intake form to prioritizes/approved. Drives system reporting requirements.

  • Oversees control checkpoints, as necessary, to ensure sound risk management.

  • Challenge project owners' identification and assessment of incremental risk

  • Partner with Legal, Risk, cross-functional leaders to ensure understanding and consistency related to change governance activities

  • Provide periodic updates on change management governance, including metrics and status to senior management and regulatory bodies, as required

  • Drive change management governance training across the company designed to provide identified individuals with knowledge and tools to operate daily with a sound risk management mindset

  • Drive continued optimization around the Change Management Governance process as needed 

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, a high school diploma and a minimum of 12 years of functional, risk and/or process management experience in the financial services industry

  • 9 years of experience to include:

    • Experience with analytical, organizational, and decision-making responsibilities

    • Understanding of business systems and processes

    • Cross functional team leadership experience

    • Experience working in or with Governance, Regulatory, Audit, or Risk Management

  • 5 years of experience with people leadership

  • Experience managing a team, including team members across multiple locations or remote

  • Experience operating in a regulated environment preferably including experience at managerial level in the finance sector.

  • Demonstrated experience as an agent of change within a heavily regulated environment

  • Excellent team skills and proven ability to work cross functionally as well as within own function.

  • Facilitation and problem solving.

Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
