As a Surgical Technician, you will leave each patient better than when they came in for surgery by enhancing patient care and safety. As a Certified Technician, you will: • Assist in circulating duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse • Set-up sterile table assuring appropriate supplies, drugs, and equipment are available. • Participate with RN in counting all sponges, instruments, etc., at appropriate times during the surgical procedure. • Assure aseptic condition is maintained by the scrubbed surgical team throughout the procedure. • Answer patient phone calls, gather information, and relay information to provider. • Perform post-op phone calls and relays information to provider. The ideal future caregiver is someone who: • Is adaptable, determined, committed, and passionate. • Works well in a supportive, fast-paced, collaborative and stressful environment. • Thinks critically, has good judgment and can work with minimal supervision.
