At United, we have some of the best aircraft in the world. Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they're well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. The salary for this position is $115k to $141k, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervises Facility Technician team performance and execution against all division and corporate maintenance objectives. This includes maintenance customer (SLA) service level agreement compliance, maintenance cycle time, service level goals/tolerances, planned and preventative maintenance program compliance and operational performance goals.
  • Leads and supports efficient and effective team maintenance operations in a positive, productive and safe work environment
  • Supervises maintenance productivity, supplies, appropriate resources, and tools as needed, coordinates technical training, manages employee dependability issues, supports team recognition program and supports employee accountability programs in accordance with policy
  • Leads safe and environmentally compliant maintenance operations
  • Supports all safety/OSHA, environmental and training programs compliance
  • Supports safety mitigation programs and leads investigations that support root cause analysis of accidents, injuries and incidences involving facility areas or team personnel
  • Identifies the need for change and/or improvement and executes
  • Maintains proactive communication and positive relations with maintenance team and customer group stakeholders
  • Manages accurate and effective customer reporting and communication programs while sustaining positive customer service and effectiveness ratings

What's needed to succeed:
  • High School Diploma
  • Formal education in one of the trade skills or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years experience in a maintenance related role
  • Management experience - leading operational teams
  • Computer Skill (outlook, e-mail, word, excel, ppt, project management formats are a few)
  • Budget experience
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Leadership, communication skills, attention to detail, timeliness to priorities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Completed apprenticeship in one of the trade skills
