Key Responsibilities:

This role will assist the digital content writing team on various UX writing projects and will be primarily reviewing and editing copy written by the senior writers, write small amounts of copy themselves, attending cross-functional meetings, and helping to intake and manage copy requests from across the organization.
  • Edit, review and help to write copy for our digital platforms and products
  • Serve as a digital brand voice advocate, overseeing the proper usage tone and voice for all United digital assets from within the team and to all collaborators
  • Simplify complex ideas and technical industry jargon into plain language all users can understand
  • Ensure that all customer-facing content on our digital channels conveys a personal, relatable and accessible tone
  • Work closely with a team of writers as we engage front-end developers, product managers, user experience designers, and CMS developers to bring our digital content to life through copywriting, content strategy and establishing user flows
  • Be prepared to jump in and assist with microcopy, landing page copy and anything else that comes across the Digital Content Writing desk
  • Act as an assignment editor for the team, intaking, coordinating and assigning out incoming requests

NOTE: This is a Chicago-based, hybrid position

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 2-4 years of professional experience writing or editing content for websites, apps or digital publications (or focus on either journalism, English or creative writing in school)
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Bachelor's degree Journalism, English, Technical Writing or similar
  • 4 years of related experience
  • Any relevant experience in either UX writing, content design or content strategy
  • Experience working with CMS (content management systems)
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Previous work with a big brand or large global enterprise a plus
  • Experience working on large-scale, complex web applications
  • Bilingual a plus
