About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Analytics Director to lead the Data Innovation and Risk Insights team within the Consumer, Small & Business Banking (CSBB) Chief Risk Officer (CRO) organization.
This leader will be responsible for understanding and aggregating the business needs across a wide set of users, designing a target-state set of business requirements, as well as, setting and managing a multi-year roadmap. As the Data Innovation and Risk Insights Leader, you will be responsible for developing and executing a data driven risk analytics infrastructure, including data integrity, data aggregation, analysis, and interpretation to support timely and effective statistically driven oversight of the CSBB business.
This role will report directly to the Strategy, Planning & Governance Lead for CSBB CRO and will manage a team of professionals focused on delivering meaningful and actionable intelligence and producing data driven solutions in response to business needs. As a part of Wells Fargo's Independent Risk Management team, this role leads the design and management of targeted data driven oversight capabilities.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead the design and build of data innovation and risk insight strategy that supports both current and future reporting and analytic needs.
  • Leverage advanced techniques such as Visualization, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop and implement effective risk oversight.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for managing data quality, process improvement, report distribution, risk control development and success measurement standards.
  • Provide leadership in developing and ensuring adherence to a data integrity governance framework.
  • Identify and enable opportunities to drive greater collaboration with the front line and other business-aligned risk teams to eliminate possible redundancies drive increased effectiveness.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Corporate Risk Strategy, Planning and Governance team on monitoring and data initiatives across Corporate Risk.
  • Deliver solutions that are long-term, large scale, and require consideration of market dynamics, trends, regulatory impact, and risk management.
  • Identify opportunities with potential for efficiency and effectiveness gain, including automation of data management processes and implementation of new tools and techniques, such as on-demand scenario analysis, and use of artificial intelligence.
  • Enable actionable insights for senior leaders through delivery of timely, executive-level communications.
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development.
Required Qualifications:
  • 8 years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4 years of Management experience

  • Seasoned risk professional with a strong understanding of various risk types (strategic, compliance, operational, reputation).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas into well-defined plans/solutions with a track-record for delivering results.
  • Consistent success in making sound business and data decisions.
  • Organizational courage and willingness to make tough, informed decisions and thoughtfully share independent perspectives.
  • Effective communicator, both orally and in writing; able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner; good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork; communicate effectively amongst diverse, differing, competing, and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities.
  • Ability to influence executive decision-making and successfully negotiate critical issue resolution through collaboration and navigating formal and informal channels; demonstrated success in leading, influencing, and building strong internal/external business relationships in a heavily matrixed organization to progress objectives requiring a high-level of cooperation.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Advanced Alteryx and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) skills.
