What you’ll be doing...

At Verizon, we’re seeking to augment our Platform Security organization and are seeking candidates with readiness to learn and build their security skills in the exciting and growing field of cloud security. 

As a member of Verizon’s Platform Security, you will support the team in its goals of embracing cloud security based technologies across multiple platforms and cloud providers. We are looking for subject matter experts in cloud and security technologies who are skilled to support the demands of the business and to care for our customer base.

As a Cloud Security Architect, you will design solutions that are scalable, cloud-native and have a multi-cloud footprint. You will utilize a range of available technologies and services offered by cloud environments and your out-of-the-box thinking to tackle complex technical & security challenges.

We are seeking candidates with a curiosity, passion and excitement for cloud security and the willingness to learn in a fast-paced dynamic environment. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Designing secure architectures for high availability, scalability and maintainability.

• Assessing trade-offs between different solutions and making sound choices amongst different solution sets.

• Integrating on-premises and cloud resources.

• Identifying ways to optimize resources and minimize cost.

• Implementing processes that minimize downtimes, such as monitoring & notification, unit & integration testing, production resilience testing, incident post-mortem analysis.

• Implementing policies that minimize security risks, such as auditing, separation of duties and least privilege.

• Implementing technologies and processes that assure business continuity in the event of disaster.

• Understanding and recommending approaches to strengthen security of proposed solutions (application; cloud architecture).

• Designing and working with engineering teams to implement security remediations and automation techniques.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have: 

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. 

• Six or more years of relevant work experience. 

• Four or more years of experience with GCP.

• Experience with GCP products, various deployment environments, storage options, BigQuery, Vertex, etc.

• Experience with serveless services, K8 architecture, service mesh, Data lakes, MLOps, secret management, and Encryption techniques.

• Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, Go, Terraform, etc.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• DevOps experience with Docker, Jenkins, Ansible Etc.

• Well read and understanding of cloud security patterns, compliance areas like PII, PCI-DSS, CPNI, etc.

• Experience working with audit teams for cloud environments.

• Experience implementing security architecture on cloud platforms.

• Ability to communicate, present and negotiate scenarios with stakeholders.

• Attitude to understand things holistically and recommend a solution.

• Ability to dissect a complex problem into simple tangible steps.

• Willingness to share and learn from others.

• Excels in Written and Verbal Communication Skill.

• Cloud Centric Certifications.
