We see a variety of patient types including: pre/post-operative orthopedic cases, mild traumatic brain injury, 23-hour video EEGs, dehydration, asthma, bronchiollitis, croup, hyperbiliruminium, renal/liver biopsies and cellulitis. Our goal is to treat patients and be able to discharge them within 24 hours. We have the unique opportunity have a physician physically present on the unit to collaborate with to provide the best outcomes for our patients. This variety allows for strong knowledge backgrounds in a wide variety of diagnoses, good critical thinking skills, detail orientated care, and building meaningful connections quickly with patients and families.
If you are someone who is flexible, detail oriented excited to learn, and values teamwork and fun in the workplace, the Observation Unit is the place for you!
