JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Operations Work Comp Specialist, you will provide vital support for Workers Compensation Operations acting as a subject matter expert in all state jurisdictions for state reporting process'. You will be a part of a diverse team accountable for providing back-office support to NA Claims and contributing to the achievement of delivering an exceptional client experience. The main function of an Operations Workers Compensation Specialist is to serve as a dedicated resource for all state reporting by analyzing daily acceptance data, assisting in work management, and maintaining internal process'. You will monitor and aid in preparations for all state legislation and system changes, and support where needed to navigate state filings. You will perform complex claim support activities related to Workers Compensation line of business within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, and regulatory environment.

Job Responsibilities include:
  • Daily monitoring of rejection reports and errors.
  • Conduct quality audits and identify trends on rejections and solutions.
  • Assist with work management and prioritization of FROI/SROI tasks.
  • State Portal Maintenance: Manage increasing demand to maintain governance, awareness, and "recertification" protocol for the state portals for Operations as well as other types of access.
  • Trade Partner Agreement Maintenance for all EDI states; responsible for creating and maintaining accurate information in the state board databases.
  • Work with vendors and Chubb IT to solve system issues and feed problems.
  • Work with business partners to advance new technology in form filing.
  • Ability to balance both quality and productivity expectations within a high-volume, transactional work environment to help meet business and customer service demands.
  • Ensure that all activities performed are documented completely and accurately.
  • Recognize, prioritize, and escalate priority requests according to established guidelines.
  • Capture and maintain accurate data for the purpose of tracking department results.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with our business partners to meet customer requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various state reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Operations activities; Assist with SOP management and process improvement.
  • Assist with training of new hires and cross training of peers.
  • Collaborate with team members from various work areas within the Operations Department to provide support and assistance when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills:
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills to interface actively with internal business partners and satisfy requirements for meeting business needs.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and quality, with delivering a good quality product at the forefront.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Efficient desk and time management skills, with an ability to manage and prioritize FROI/SROI tasks in a quality and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Effectively follow workflow and assess information to make sound decisions.
  • Proficient computer processing skills including, but not limited to, knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel, and excellent web-based navigation.
  • Strong ability to monitor and analyze daily acceptance data, rejection reports, and errors with accuracy.
  • Strong technical knowledge with familiarity in state portals and EDI state, as well as experience working with vendors and IT for system problem solving.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma, associate degree or insurance business designation preferred.
  • 1-3 years Operations or Work Comp experience.
  • Prior insurance and/or customer service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and meet business needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while efficiently managing multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in desk and time management, with exceptional multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow established workflows and analyze information to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and web-based navigation.
  • Prior experience in state filings and EDI work is preferred.
