Position Description:
CDL -Class A, truck driver
The driver position exists to facilitate the customer through loading, delivering and unloading of freight in a timely fashion. The person filling this position is to have safety as a high priority.
Equipment but not limited to:
Over the Road Equipment such as: CDL- Straight Trucks, Tractors Such as over-the -road single and double axel tractors or the equivalent. Trailers: pulling Trailers of all types of length up to and including 53 Foot (e.g. dry trailers, refrigerated trailers, tankers and flat beds). Will need to be able to operate power industrial equipment such as: fork trucks, rider pallet jacks, walkie stackers. Will need to operate Kalma-Ottawa yard truck
DUTIES:
Operate a commercial motor vehicle safely & professionally
Accommodate and facilitate customers logistics needs
Conduct safety checks of vehicle & load securement prior to and during shipment
Load & unload freight using power industrial equipment.
Deliver freight in a timely fashion meeting safety and quality requirements
Inspect vehicle daily with pre-trip and post trip inspection.
Secure each portion of load following standard protocols.
Clean the inside of the truck and trailers daily
Turn in all paperwork immediately and upon request
Keep an accurate up to date log record of on duty and off duty status
Obtain a legible signature for each load at drop off delivered or scan shipment to the delivery point and a record of delivery. Must comply with all D.O.T., Federal, State and Company regulations.
Completes and maintains compliance with all required company and regulatory training meeting timing expectations
Immediately report all accidents and injuries into the proper authorities and company management

Education Minimum Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience and Skills:
Core skills in the following programs:
Valid Class A – CDL driver’s license. All endorsements required, (H)Hazardous materials, (N)tanker, (T)doubles /triples, (X) Tanker and Hazardous Materials
Class A- CDL Over the Road Driving experience. Five (5) year minimum
Operation of all Trucking equipment offered by the Company
ADDITIONAL JOB FEATURES:
Follows all company and regulatory requirements for reporting all accidents and safety incidents immediately to Manager and other defined regulatory/insurer organizations
Attend all required driver safety and other required department and company meetings
Report potential problems with loads- (loose products, improper banding, over -width, overweight, etc.)
Required to Fuel up vehicles and maintain inventory of trailer yard and/or other equipment/supplies
Perform requested moves supporting site operations
Complete Teamster Standard Operating procedure training
Daily interaction with shippers and receivers
Daily interaction with motoring public
Physical demands
Strapping loads
Securing loads
Lifting, push/pull up to 50 LBS frequently
Working in all types of weather conditions
