Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

As a member of the Growth Governance & Excellence organization, the AVP, Growth Change Strategy Manageris responsible for executing various quality and oversight routines to strengthen the first line of defense risk management framework within Growth. Reporting to the VP, New Product Introduction, the AVP, Growth Change Strategy Manager will support various governance and oversight activities including those related to New Product Introduction, Fair Lending governance and tollage activities and Synchrony's web accessibility oversight. This individual must be a strong communicator, able to think both strategically and tactically, influence in a matrixed environment, and embrace a culture of change and innovation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all compliance, process, and regulatory expectations are fulfilled with supporting evidence for areas of responsibility

  • Support compliant execution of the NPI process in accordance with policies and procedures

  • Provide NPI Sub-Committee monthly management support; agenda development, compiling materials from various stakeholders, recording meeting minutes, committee reporting materials preparation and document repository management

  • Lead and facilitatetimely Marketing Fair Lending Tollgate meetings to ensure appropriate risk oversight and management of consumer segmentation tools, models, and other tools meeting the tollgate requirements

  • Maintain meeting materials, minutes and other supporting evidence utilized during the Marketing Fair Lending Tollgate process

  • Manage Growth Customer Segmentation (CST) model inventory and Non-Model Tool roll up within eGRC

  • Identify opportunities to streamline connection between tollgate reviews and Workfront campaign activities including automation and reporting solutions for both Fair Lending tollgate and NPI tollgate process

  • Support Synchrony-wide ADA digital program focused on compliance with Website Accessibility Compliance Guidelines (‘WCAG’) 

  • As team roles and responsibilities expand and change over time, incorporate new quality, oversight, or governance routines and activities into ongoing operating rhythm

  • Perform Other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree. in lieu of degree, HS Diploma/GED and a minimum of 8 years of functional, risk and/or process management experience in the financial services industry 

  • 5 years of experience to include: 

    • Experience with analytical, organizational, and decision-making responsibilities 

    • Understanding of business systems and processes 

    • Cross functional team leadership experience 

    • Experience working in Governance, Regulatory, Audit, or Risk Management

  • Excellent team skills and proven ability to work cross functionally as well as within own function

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate situations using multiple sources of information

  • Facilitation and problem solving

Grade/Level: 10

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
