Oneida Engineering Solutions (OES) delivers full-service transportation design, construction management, and survey services. Our primary clients are WisDOT, counties, municipalities, and private developers in Wisconsin as well as the Illinois Tollway.

OES has an immediate opening for a Project Construction Manager (Civil Engineer).

As our Transportation Construction Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our vision, driving operational excellence, and inspiring a high-performing team.

OES is a DBE in WI, IL, FL, MN, FL, CA, GA, and TX. We also received our SBA 8a certification allowing us sole source opportunities working for the Department of Defense. We serve a growing roster of clients such as WisDOT, counties, municipalities, FHWA, DFD, BIA, Tribes, and private developers in Wisconsin, MNDOT, IDOT and the Illinois Tollway. We seek an experienced and versatile transportation construction professional to share our mission to build lasting value for the Oneida Nation, employees, and clients by being a reputable, profitable, and expanding provider of A/E/C and other professional services and leading our transportation construction group for our rapidly growing company. This practice-area leader is ideally located in Madison, WI, Milwaukee or Green Bay. Locations:

  • Wisconsin- Madison, Milwaukee or Green Bay
  • Florida- Tampa or Orlando

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visionary Leadership: You will develop and communicate a compelling vision for our transportation construction department, inspiring team members and stakeholders to rally behind common goals. You will be at the forefront of strategic decision-making, charting the course for future growth, and spearheading innovation initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence: You will be responsible for optimizing the transportation construction network, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. By leveraging your expertise, you will implement efficient transportation construction strategies, employing advanced analytics and technology to drive process improvements and maximize resource utilization.
  • Team Empowerment: As a true leader, you will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. You will mentor and develop a diverse team of transportation construction professionals, empowering them to achieve their full potential and fostering a customer-centric mindset. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, driving collaborative efforts and maintaining high service levels.
  • Safety and Compliance: Upholding the highest safety standards and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations will be a top priority. You will develop and implement robust safety protocols, monitor adherence, and drive a safety-first culture across the transportation construction department.
  • Strategic Partnerships: You will cultivate and nurture strategic partnerships with suppliers, carriers, and other external stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and leverage industry best practices. Your ability to negotiate and establish win-win agreements will be critical in driving strategic alliances that contribute to the company's success.

Travel:

This position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some fieldwork and travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project delivery.
  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Technical expert in all relevant areas of construction and understanding of various construction methods.
  • Strong time management, budgeting, and contract negotiation skills.
  • Understand client expectations, proposal writing and basic accounting.
  • Strong client interaction and relationship skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Wisconsin or Florida Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 10 years of transportation engineering experience.
