We are seeking a highly organized and skilled part time Winery & Estate Maintenance Associate to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our winery, tasting room, estate & guest home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing repairs, ensuring grounds are immaculate, and working closely with a variety of maintenance subcontractors. Responsibilities:Maintenance Coordination:
- Perform all necessary repairs and maintenance activities required for the tasting room, estate, guest home, and other items as needed, within scope of handyman/handywoman skills. For larger maintenance projects requiring the skills of specialists, work with Operations Supervisor to schedule outside specialty subcontractors for estimates and coordinate the repair scheduling and completion timeline.
- Collaborate and provide property knowledge with maintenance subcontractors, including but not limited to landscaping, pest control, lighting, audio-visual systems, gates, plumbing, electrical, alarm systems, septic system, water treatment system, pool, garbage and recycling facilities, fireplaces, air compressor, nitrogen generator and refrigeration systems
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with outside vendors
- Oversee equipment inventory management related to maintenance and repairs.
- Provide occasional onsite hospitality support for moving and arranging settings, and occasional event setup as needed.
- Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a winery or estate setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures, subcontractor management, and budgeting.
- Knowledge of large equipment and systems, as well as household equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work a part time schedule, which may include evenings and weekends as urgent maintenance situations arise.
- Physical ability to perform tasks related to property maintenance.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must have a valid California Driver's License.
- Forklift certification and scissor lift is required.
- “Pitch in” attitude to assist teammates with tasks as needed.
- This role involves strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and repetitive motions. Additionally, this employee will be working in small spaces, crawling, working outside, bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing heights. Candidates should be in good physical condition and able to meet the demands of the position.
