AQUATICS MANAGER

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, this is skilled water safety work in preventing accidents and injuries. The position is responsible for the supervision of head lifeguards and pool attendants. This position is responsible for supervising subordinate personnel engaged in aquatics activities and safety procedures by scheduling and evaluating work activities at the water park. Performs duties ranging from directly life guarding, including providing CPR, First Aid, and conducting victim/witness surveys to providing skilled tasks including but not limited to assigning lifeguard, staff rotations with lifeguard breaks promptly.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise the daily operations of the water park, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Establishes and enforces water park rules and operating procedures.
  • Assists in the daily set-up and break down of facility equipment, including rescue equipment, chairs, rafts, and other duties as assigned.
  • Reviews and sign off all documentation, including Accident/Incident reports, employees leave requests, time clock discrepancies, opening and closing procedures log for accuracy and verification.
  • Work with a lead guard to provide relief to lifeguards by assigning regular rotations.
  • Assigns and conducts daily training, cleaning assignments, and opening facility and equipment inspections.
  • Reports any problems or damage to the Director of Operations and the water park’s designee as soon as possible.
  • The supervisor will rescue bathers in distress, apply resuscitation, and administer emergency care WHEN NEEDED.
  • Schedule and participate in regular in-service training and exercise regularly to maintain fitness level (strength and endurance).
  • Receives reviews, prepares, and/or submits various records and reports, including job applications, performance appraisals, requisitions, monthly and quarterly reports, program proposals, attendance reports, daily receipts, memos, forms, correspondence, etc.
  • They will be assisting in other routine activities relating to the water park operations, facility maintenance, and water park events such as after-parties, camps, special events organized by the hotel, out-of-hours activities, etc.
  • Serves as a member of various employee committees, as assigned. Assist the water park management with special events.
  • If necessary, the aquatics' manager will rotate within the facility. Other facilities in the nearby area managed by One Stop Aquatic Safety and work as a lifeguard, including a camera room, and will perform other duties as assigned.

Necessary knowledge and minimum requirements

  • Valid Lifeguard Certification “American Red Cross”
  • Skilled in operation of listed tools and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively enforce safety and health regulations relating to aquatic programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing; establish, and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, participants, instructors, and the public. Plus the ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with a diverse population, both external and internal.
