What You Will Do
Provide specialized level Geographic Information System (GIS) based mapping services to distribution divisions.
Support GIS data improvement projects.
Utilize GIS software to update and maintain gas system and land base spatial data based on information received from internal field operations and external sources. This may include :
Analyze and interpret source documentation (engineering drawings, material sheets, CAD drawings, etc.) for completeness, correctness, and usability.
Communicate with business operations to resolve moderately complex source documentation problems.
Provide quality control review of data and products and high level user support for GIS product and application end users.
Participate on data improvement project teams.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
What You Will Need
Associate's Degree preferred
GIS or related field experience preferred
Experience using ancillary information systems, such as Maximo, to support day-to-day work activities.
Experience analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings and associated documentation, right-of-way information, maps, and legal descriptions.
Experience with ESRI desktop software for data editing, querying, map and report creation.
Follow regulatory requirements for the gas pipeline and utility industry, including company standards and procedures.
Demonstrate editing proficiency in all Production Mapping job types.
Knowledge and training related :
Read and write fluently in English.
Applicable driver's license.
ESRI Desktop Associate certification.
Mobility to travel in and around job sites system wide.
Remain stationary for extended periods.
Communicate and exchange information.
Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
