1 | SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The Copy Editor will be responsible for ensuring all print and public materials are accurate, clear, consistent, properly formatted, well written, and grammatically correct. The Copy Editor is responsible for ensuring consistent tones and styles are used throughout all materials. The range of publications may include, but are not limited to marketing documents, social media posts, pamphlets, brochures, technical reports, fiscal responsibility reports, and other electronic resources.

2 | MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proofread (correct spelling, grammar, and layout) and copy edit (check content, impose consistent style, and rewrite) depending on the project and deliverable audience
• Communicate with team to reach integrated copy and visual solutions
• Draft and support the drafting of various documents ranging from marketing to technical materials

· Work with business development team on strategies to reach branding and marketing goals

3 | ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to the Head of Communications; no supervisory responsibilities

4 | SKILLS:

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Communication, Journalism or related field, or significant equivalent professional experience.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience or advanced degree required
• Experience creating and reviewing content for both print and web materials
• Proven ability to deliver high-volume, quality content under tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and thorough
• Creative conceptual thinker; self-directed and self-driven
• Teaching experience a plus
