Onda is a global manufacturer of hydrophones and test instruments serving the medical and industrial ultrasound markets. Our role in the medical space is to work with medical ultrasound manufacturers to ensure their devices are safe and effective. The technologies we have developed focus on acoustically measuring mechanical, cavitational, and thermal parameters. We are located in Sunnyvale, CA and have contributed to the field of ultrasound for over three decades.

This is a job not made for everyone. It requires someone with a roll-up-your-sleeve mindset to solve problems from the ground up. As Manufacturing Manager, the Candidate will actively drive all production activities for Onda’s offerings and ensure timely delivery to customers without compromising quality. The job requires an energetic individual who is decisive and takes action. S/he will lead a team that represents assembly, test, and facilities and work cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Acoustics.

Responsibilities :

• Drive production and inspection activities for Onda products and services, including electronic or mechanical assembly, machining, tool fabrication, prototype builds, fixtures, and material disposition.
• Define initiatives to improve workflow efficiency, systems improvements, and growth
• Define and meet Manufacturing goals of Onda’s Quality Management System and enforce operational compliance within ISO 9001.
• Build a culture that continuously audits how things are done and cross-trains different team members.
• Strategize and plan with Supply Chain to establish and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Oversee the maintenance of process equipment to ensure efficient operation with minimal down-time
• Organize facilities and floor space for optimal work flow; manage hazardous materials handling and compliance

Qualifications :

• 3 years’ experience in a medical device or high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with operating in a Quality Management System (QMS) e.g., ISO 9001.
• Bachelor’s degree in an mechanical engineering or related field.
• Excellent analytical, verbal and written skills with a high attention to detail.
• Solid PC skills. Experience with MS Excel, Salesforce, Quickbooks, and MRP software (e.g., Parts & Vendors) is a plus.
• Highly organized self-starter with time management skills; strong ability to handle multiple tasks; uncomfortable standing still.
• Enjoys refining process engineering details for ultrasonic transducers which include vacuum film deposition systems, adhesive bonding processes, fixturing, machining.
• Experience in implementation of specification and process control parameters
• Live and breathe manufacturing; constantly think of ways to do things better.
