Once Upon a Childcare is looking for a Pre-K Teacher to join our team! We are looking for someone who is interested in working with children three and older to help them prepare for kindergarten.
Pay starts between $16.00 and $20.00 based on education and experience. On-going pay raises for all employees are awarded based on meeting program standards and expectations. If you are a good fit for our program, we love to promote and help all our teaching staff grow! Career advancement is always available, and we are willing to assist.
Benefits:
  • Full-time staff members have the ability to earn up to 96 hours of PTO and 66 hours of sick pay a year. PTO hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
  • Holiday pay will be paid based on your average hours worked and paid to each employee after their 60-day probationary period.

  • Monthly bonus for perfect attendanceResponsibilities:
    • Develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for age group
    • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
    • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
    • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
    • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).
    • Track children's progress and report to parents
    • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.
    • Collaborate with other educators.
    • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
    Desired Skills and Experience:
    • Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
    • Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses are a plus!
    • LEVEL 2 on PDIS (Required)
    • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
    • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
    • Excellent communication and instructional skills
    • Ability to act as a mediator between children
    • Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
    • Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
