On Us LLC is Hiring an Afternoons Maintenance Technician Near Kent, OH

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the entire bottling operation consistently maximizes up time and equipment efficiency. Continued focus on new equipment’s preventative maintenance requirements and repairs as needed. This job will also require an individual to cross train with operators & back up any operational position as requested. This role will report directly to the Maintenance Lead.

This position offers a $2,000 signing bonus! 

Candidate must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime

Duties & Responsibilities

Mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of machines.

Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of equipment.

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts.

Test and make necessary adjustments to optimize machine performance.

Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.

Continuously monitor equipment to diagnose potential problems as early as possible.

Perform a variety of general facility upkeep procedures and functions.

Capable of using a variety of hand & power tools, voltage meters, and material handling equipment

Detect faulty machinery and defective material. Then communicate the problem with a sense of urgency to the Maintenance Lead and appropriate supervisor.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Time management includes actively utilizing our scheduling and tracking system. Focusing on effectively completing all work orders assigned in a timely manner, while accounting for the order tasks were assigned as well as level of urgency.

Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of all safety policies and standards related to position.

Work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations, take appropriate action to ensure safety of self and others in building.

Collaborate with Maintenance Lead on preventive maintenance activities and ensures that PM program adheres to the original equipment manufacturers recommendation, aiming to achieve maximum efficiency and reducing reactive maintenance.

Identify and propose long term solutions for ongoing downtime issues.

When necessary, provide support on a 24-hour basis.

Constantly seek ways to support other team members while striving for process improvements.

Maintain and enforce a high level of housekeeping abiding by the C.L.E.A.N. program.

Strictly follow GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and the SQF System Program.

Train on all equipment within our facility to support production as needed.

Ensure that designated equipment and facilities are fit for purpose, providing proactive support and solutions.

Participate in training employees on how to operate machines safely and efficiently. Assist Maintenance Lead in identifying specific operating functions that would benefit from additional maintenance training.

Maintain spare parts inventory – organize, track, and proactively communicate requirements to the Maintenance Lead

Entering, logging, and maintaining work orders within our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with a high level of detail and organization.

Strive to exceed any performance metrics outline by the Maintenance Lead

Identify failures that would result in FULL line shut down.

Produce Microsoft Word and Excel based reports as requested.

Assist in other departments or perform other tasks when necessary.

Performing both reactive and preventative maintenance on all production equipment reducing reactive maintenance to 10% or less.

Requirements

Five or more years mechanic experience (food and beverage industry preferred)

Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting

Ability to use electrical and electronic test instruments as well as a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform equipment inspections.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance/manufacturing manuals and blueprints.

Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills

Basic knowledge of plumbing

Ability to repair, rebuild, or overhaul equipment.

Experience with general building and facility management

Related trade school courses preferred.

Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and management practices to prevent or manage risk and potential losses.

Ability to be assertive without being outwardly aggressive in dealings with others.

Strong personal work ethic, enthusiasm, and high energy level.

Flexible schedule – evening / weekend schedule may be required.

Strong sense of accountability as well as a willingness to learn.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
