OMS Field Services is looking for a Pre-Inspector Manager, Transmissions to work with the PG&E representative and manage contractor employees to perform direct oversight of Vegetation Management work conducted on Electric Distribution or Transmission systems.
Essential Functions:
  • Manage Contractor employees and perform direct oversight of Vegetation Management work conducted on Electric Transmission systems.
  • Review and communicate environmental requirements to each location.
  • Responsible for teamwork quality and safety messaging, managing project completion goals and tracking production.
  • Track daily resource and production data, manage constraints, communicate with partners, and assist with communicating messaging from Operations.
  • Conduct safety briefs / team check-ins, perform safety audits, perform desktop reviews of work packages, ensure productivity, assign circuit goals, prepare for status meetings, prepare index maps for project patrols, resolve refusals, assign work to pre-inspection staff, field validation for work verification findings, and review any completed index maps per Mapping procedure.
  • Conduct QC/QA safety audits, perform/ catalogue QC/QA field audits, conduct monthly operation/safety meetings and review project completion timelines for quarter.
  • Provide necessary information to Contractor employee(s), including but not limited to, goals, schedule, and pre planning report.
  • Maintain working relationship with all project partners.
  • Maintain working relationship with partners and customers to achieve satisfactory results.
  • Perform quarterly mapping audits.
  • Perform Quality Check reviews, focusing on field compliance and data integrity.
  • Resolve customer claims investigations.
  • Support corrective actions.
  • Track and assign new hire trainings, on-boarding and WBT trainings for pre- inspectors.
  • Ensure that pre-inspection work is performed in accordance with Vegetation Management Standards and Procedures, project specifications, applicable permits, and safety requirements, and in compliance with all governing federal, state, and local jurisdictional agencies.
  • Capable and comfortable working with software applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Required to maintain a Class C driver’s license.
  • Conduct a background check, drug screening, and health exam.
  • Certified Arborist, or
  • Three years of utility vegetation inspections or
  • Two years with line clearance certification or
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Forester or
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Utility Inspector or higher classification with at least One (1) year of vegetation management experience or
  • Four (4) years of Military Service with honorable discharge and at least one (1) year additional year of vegetation management inspection experience and
  • Approval by client representative.
Working Conditions: 

Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor conditions; exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on/walk on slippery or uneven and potentially mountainous terrain. Noise level is usually moderate.
