Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced financial professional to fill the role of Paraplanner. This individual will directly support at least two financial advisors and will service both existing and prospective clients on an ongoing basis. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to conducting software introductory meetings with prospective clients, managing and organizing client information in multiple databases, completing money movement and account maintenance requests via our designated custodian(s), managing the portfolio review process, as well as preparing financial projections. OmniStar’s Paraplanners are crucial to a client’s relationship with OmniStar. In some instances, the Paraplanner is the client’s primary point-of-contact for certain aspects of the relationship.

This individual must be extremely detail-oriented, have a high degree of follow-through and be able to manage one’s own work load as well as assist advisory tasks. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with clients in-person, virtually and over the phone, and will have a high regard for clear, consistent communication with clients and coworkers alike. This position may be ideal for a person looking to advance their career and move into an advisory or portfolio management role in the future.

Primary Duties

  • Prepare financial analyses for clients, including: retirement, estate planning, education funding, stock options, and risk management needs.
  • Manage the workflows leading up to client meetings: prepare meeting agendas, client paperwork, Investment Policy Statement(s), review asset allocations. Keep advisor informed of all client conversations occurring prior to meetings
  • Manage the post-meeting process: complete meeting notes, coordinate planning implementation with outside professionals, complete follow-up items discovered during the client meeting.
  • Develop a working knowledge of financial planning using eMoney Advisor software. Stay informed of software improvements and advancements that can be implemented at the firm.
  • Continuously monitor clients’ financial situations with detail and accuracy.
  • Partner with a TPA to deliver 401(k) services to plan participants and providers. This may include occasional on-site visits to provider locations.
  • Conduct account maintenance and service requests via the Fidelity Wealthscape platform.
  • Coordinate trading and investment activities with the firm’s Portfolio Manager
  • Occasionally provide front desk and/or phone support during times of low staffing or high-volume caseloads.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Intermediate experience with eMoney Advisor (1 years)
  • Working knowledge of Fidelity’s Wealthscape platform (preferred)
  • Client service experience (2 years)
  • Morningstar Office software experience (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 programs
  • Strong computer and typing skills
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, problem solver and goal-oriented with a "no job is beneath me" attitude
  • Organized, strong attention to detail
  • Thrives in a deadline-driven work environment with changing priorities
  • Must abide by industry and company compliance standards

Education/Requirements

  • 2 years working experience in a wealth management and/or retirement planning firm
  • Bachelor's degree in financial planning, business, finance or economics is preferred
  • Holds Series 65 licensure or can attain within six months of joining the firm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
