Vulcan Steel Products looks to bring on board a bright, future leader in technology that can help us find more effective ways of tackling the

challenges of our growing need for technology. This opportunity will allow you to learn about our current and future objectives while expanding upon existing tools and helping create custom tools to fit every need. This position will play a critical role in day-to-day operations and will be vital to the advancement of the company. Our team supports a variety of different users including a national sales staff, two on-site administrative offices, and three distinct light manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to staff requests for support followed up with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solutions
• Collaborate with IT team members to find more efficient ways of completing tasks
• Partner with end users to assess needs and changes for functionality and ease of use
• Ability to identify and follow timelines for projects
• Document solutions and track support requests using a helpdesk system
• Manage software versioning and releases
• Develop applications, reports, and dashboards to help our departments make informed decisions. Additionally, develop technical software documentation including requirements, design and user manuals
• Assist with managing databases needed for identified software needs
• Ability to crosstrain team and users

Qualifications

Required 

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Two (2) years of back-end programing languages (Java, C#, C , etc.) and front-end scripting languages (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS) or an equivalent combination
• History of process improvement and problem solving
• Good verbal skills
• Strong desire to learn
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis
• Other duties as assigned

• Experience with VBA
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Power BI
• Experience with Salesforce Development or Administration
• Experience with ERP solutions
• Experience with EDI solutions
