Set to open in the Spring of 2023, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU will amplify Tempe's revitalized downtown area and bring some of the largest conference and meeting space to the city. The hotel will feature 330 guest rooms, including 11 suites, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail, and almost 36,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Tempe cityscape. Whether you are looking for a destination for your weekend getaway, a meeting room or event space for a conference or wedding, or a night out at the multiple upscale restaurants, the Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is sure to meet the needs of the most refined travelers.

Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer to join the pre-opening team of our brand-new upscale hotel. Opening in the spring of 2023, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU will provide Tempe with 330 guest rooms, 36,000 square feet of event space and four new food and beverage outlets. Featuring a rooftop upscale restaurant and the largest ballroom in the area, we expect to provide elevated options for our guests for dining and entertainment.

Responsibilities

  • Patrolling the hotel property to ensure the safety of our guests and the associates and to protect the hotel assets.
  • Answer house calls to assist both guests and associates with respect to safety, security, and hotel operations.
  • Assist sick or injured guests and/or associates within a timely manner.
  • Ensuring all documentation, reporting and witness statements have been completed following any incidents on property. Appropriately following up with guests, visitors, and associates.
  • Maintain accurate records while performing basic duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, shift activity log, and reporting.
  • Monitoring visitor and vendor access to the property by distributing visitor badges and collecting upon their departure.
  • Perform frequent bag checks for associates leaving the property.
  • Assist the Director of Loss Prevention in checking alarm systems, safety and fire alarm systems and closely monitoring security of building doors, service areas, delivery areas and grounds.
  • Attend and prepare for daily stand-up to obtain information from the previous shift and communicate with the incoming associates.
  • Support the hotel management in emergency situations by knowing all hotel safety procedures and leading guests and associates to safety.
  • Record, report and correct any unsafe conditions while patrolling hotel property and communicate with the department managers in a timely manner.
  • Escort any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation.
  • Maintaining a calm and friendly demeanor when having to defuse guest or associate disturbances.
  • Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 with assistance.
  • Efficient and discreet communication skills involving associates and guests by telephone, email, radio, and internal reporting.
  • Must be service and detail oriented, possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be proficient on a computer.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position is a full-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
